Expect body mist to last for about 3 to 4 hours. Unlike perfume, which is made to last all day, body mists contain more water and fewer essential oils. This also makes them light enough to be reapplied throughout the day. To make the fragrance last, apply on moisturized skin, so the hydration helps lock in the scent. Apply on pulse points like the inside of your elbows, knees, and wrists where the warmth from your body helps diffuse the scent.
Choosing between body mist and eau de parfum comes down to personal preference. Body mists have a light, subtle scent when you prefer something refreshing. They contain a higher water content and less concentrated essential oils, which makes them more affordable and fairer to use multiple times throughout the day. Eau de parfum has a more pronounced scent from a higher concentration of essential oils. This deep, luxurious scent is perfect for formal events and a more intense, long-lasting scent. Both serve a rightful place in any fragrance collection—choose body mists for a refreshing, daily spritz and eau de parfum to make a bold statement.
Like most cosmetic products, body mist does have a shelf life, typically ranging from two to three years, unless there's a specific expiration date listed. Over time, the scent of body mist may change as the essential oils and other aromatic compounds begin to deteriorate or oxidize. It's important to store body mist away from direct sunlight in a cool, dry place.
