THE SILK
COLLECTION
Silk is a natural fiber, beloved for centuries for its smooth texture and beautiful sheen. Many types of insects produce silk to make cocoons and nests. The silk is extracted before being woven or knitted into fabric. Because silk fibers are extremely fine and smooth, the resulting silk fabric used for pajamas is soft and gentle on skin. Silk can also be used to make more structured fabrics like organza or crêpe.
When we talk about upgrading your sleepwear, fabric is probably the biggest factor. While we love the look and feel of cotton, flannel, and modal, silk has its own unique luxurious and comfortable qualities. Namely, natural silk fibers are temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking for a cool and dry feeling at night. Also, skin and hair glide over silk smoothly, which means less tugging on your skin and less frizz for your hair while sleeping.
"Sexy" and "comfortable" mean something different to everyone. Our collection of silk sleepwear features a range of popular pajama styles, whether you prefer the coverage of a button-down shirt or the freedom of a slip dress.
As a premium fabric, silk goes perfectly with elevated styles like pajama sets. The style borrows from classic menswear tailoring with collars, chest pockets, and piping details, but with a feminine touch and oversized, loose feel.
For the lightest, barely-there feel, try a camisole pajama set. These styles are all about the freedom to move while looking gorgeous. A silk camisole can usually double as a top for your daytime wardrobe, too.
For those you love a touch of vintage romance, a slip dress is a must. These pieces skim over curves without clinging for an extremely light feeling. Slip dresses are available in different lengths from a cheeky mini to a dramatic midi or maxi. They are easy to slip on and off, perfect for winding down after a long day.
The choice between silk and satin depends on your lifestyle and budget. Silk is considered a gold standard of luxury fabrics. Pure Mulberry silk is hypoallergenic, breathable, and soft on skin. However, it can be significantly more expensive than satin (due to the intensive production process).
Satin is often compared to silk, but "satin" actually refers to the weave of the fabric, not the fiber itself. While you can have "silk satin," many of our popular satin pajamas are crafted from high-quality synthetic materials like polyester. This makes satin affordable while having a similar glossy look and smooth feel as silk.
