Pajamas are specifically designed for sleeping, so when you think about style and fabric it's important to make a good night's rest your top priority. Loungewear, on the other hand, is a hybrid. It uses many of the same fabrics as sleepwear (cotton, fleece, etc.), but the silhouettes may resemble regular clothing like wide-leg pants and everyday tees. While you can absolutely sleep-in and wear-out both pajamas and loungewear, it's really two different states of mind you're shopping for.
