Types of Pajama Bottoms

Pajama Pants

Pajama pants are a popular choice for their long and loose-fitting style. For a relaxed feel that doesn't compromise on style, pj pants are effortlessly chic and cozy. With a variety of fabrics to choose from, each material offers a unique sleeping experience tailored for different preferences and climates. Pair a vibrant pattern with a cozy white sweater or go for a matching striped pj set. These soft pajama pants often have an elastic waistband or adjustable drawstrings to accommodate a range of body shapes and sizes.

Pajama Shorts

Pajama shorts are a good choice for warmer nights or anyone who prefers minimal restriction while sleeping. These shorts offer the same level of comfort and style as pants but have greater air flow and ease of movement. Browse high-waisted to low-rise shorts and super short to mid-thigh lengths. Their lightweight nature also makes them a practical option for traveling or running errands, as well as a good night's sleep.

Women’s Sleep Boxers

Boxer shorts—a type of sleep shorts—are more popular than ever as pajamas. Women's sleep boxers have a loose fit around the hips and thighs, plus a short 2-3 inch inseam. The silhouette is usually made from the same lightweight fabrics as traditional pajama bottoms. Enjoy more freedom and soft waistbands that fit different body shapes.

Choosing the Best Fabric for Comfort

Cotton Pajama Bottoms

Cotton is a great fabric for sleepwear because of its natural softness and breathability. Known for being both gentle on skin and durable, these pajamas are lightweight and cozy. Cotton pajamas can help regulate temperature while you sleep by absorbing moisture to keep air circulating. They're easy to care for, too—cotton pajamas are machine washable and maintain their quality after multiple washes.

Silky Pajama Bottoms

A silky pair of bottoms adds a touch of luxury to loungewear. The smooth, glossy texture of TENCEL™ Lyocell feels gentle on skin, providing a soothing sensation. Unlike heavier fabrics, satin is still light and falls off curves in a flattering way.

Flannel Pajama Bottoms

Flannel pajama bottoms are a staple for those seeking warmth and coziness. Known for insulating properties, flannel is a woven fabric that's typically made from cotton-modal blends, making it soft to the touch. Perfect for lounging at home or sipping cocoa by the fireplace, flannel pajamas are an essential part of any winter wardrobe.

Plush, Fuzzy, and Fleece Bottoms

Fuzzy pajama bottoms are another warm option for cold nights or cozy days at home. These plush pants or shorts envelop you in a soft, snuggly embrace. The thick fabric gives you a comfortable fit that keeps heat close to your body. Plus, the playful texture and colors are a fun addition to your loungewear collection.

Finding the Right Size and Fit

Customers love the true-to-size fit of our pajama shorts and pants. Pick the right size by opening the size guide on each product and choosing the size that best matches your waist and hip measurements. Most of our pajama pants are offered in Short, Regular, and Long lengths. Generally, we find that if you are 5'4" and under, we recommend the Short length. If you are 5'8" or taller, we recommend the Long length.

How to Wash and Fold Pajama Bottoms

Generally, it's best to wash most pajama bottoms in cold water on a normal cycle to prevent shrinking and fading. To keep fabrics soft, consider using a mild detergent. When it comes to drying, choose low to medium heat or air-drying to preserve the fabric's integrity and shape. After washing, lay your pajama pants flat, fold them in half lengthwise, and then fold into thirds for easy stacking in your drawer.
